We're often asked what kinds of upgrades can we do. Tough question. Not because we can't make up a good answer, but because it's a broad question, and everyone's computer is different. So there’s not a good answer we can give everyone without asking some questions and looking inside your computer.

In general, most computers can accept common upgrades such as adding CD or DVD writers, adding RAM, adding a second hard drive or replacing the current hard drive with one of a larger capacity.

Normally upgrading the CPU is either not possible, or not worth the cost. If your computer was built by the big name brand computer builders such as Dell, HP, Compaq, eMachine, Gateway, etc., the CPU is not upgradeable. If you have a custom built system, once we know the motherboard manufacturer, we can check to see what upgrades are possible.

If your computer is a mini-tower (i.e., it's about 14 inches tall), you may have difficulty adding a component. The reason is there's less room in a mini-tower than a mid-tower or desktop case. As is normally the case, we'll need to open your computer and take a look to tell for sure.
